New Updates (09/26/2007)
I What A Savior! On the back of a donkey and amidst the cheers of the crowd, into the city He came; With the full knowledge that within just a few days they wouldn’t respond the same. From a high hill in the city He was able to look at the town And prophesy of the time when every stone of the city would be cast down.
At His own prophecy He could not help but weep, Then He rode on in His destiny to keep. For He and His disciples there was a last meal of wine and bread. He knew there was one present who would soon be dead.
Satan like a roaring lion was seeking someone to devour, And he entered his target at that same hour. Judas then sought the Son of Man to betray For a few pieces of silver, just a little pay.
Coming with soldiers this traitor planted a kiss on His cheek And He full of grace said, “Let these others go, it is I whom you seek.” He was taken away and tried by self-righteous men Whose eyes were blind to Truth, who were guided by sin.
Initially found innocent by Pilate, He nevertheless endured a brutal beating While His disciples were in hiding and not seeing the salvation work He was completing. Yielding to a mob that would settle for nothing less than crucifixion, Pilate assisted in the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, this horrible depiction.
He carried His own cross up to that hill, And He laid down His life His Father’s plan to fulfill. Our sin put Him there I’m ashamed to say, But He is not on that cross today.
They laid Him in a tomb until resurrection day. Mary looked for Him, then she heard Him say, “Mary”, and though she told His disciples all He had said, They had to see for themselves that He was no longer dead.
He was no longer dead, indeed it was and is still true. Now that is the gospel, good news, for me and you. He sits at His Father’s right hand today, And “He ever lives to make intercession for us” when we pray.
